Urban spatial accessibility is an important issue that needs to be considered in terms of urban spatial regulation. Redistribution of street urban space towards improving accessibility to workplaces and services requires changes in the city's infrastructure, public transport, creation of bicycle lanes, and expansion of sidewalks. One solution that is being actively implemented in Kyiv (Ukraine) is the introduction of aboveground pedestrian crossings that replace or duplicate underground crossings. On the part of the city authorities, the implementation of the accessibility principle and individual solutions in this regard should consider the analysis of their impact on traffic organization. This study proposes to use a microscopic traffic simulation to address this issue. Traffic modeling is an important function used in intelligent transportation systems and is aimed at improving the efficiency of street and road networks. The study examines an intersection in the city center, where, according to a city regulatory document, a duplicate ground crossing is planned. The existing situation and the scenario of the ground crossing implementation were modeled in the PTV Vissim software.
