Image sharpness is a terminology used as an opposite of image blur, which limits the visibility of details. The EM is an on-orbit approach that, provided the availability of suitable edges in an image, computes a series of functions from which can be derived different sharpness metrics. Edges are as regions of the image where a sudden shift in Digital Numbers (DN) is registered. The selection of suitable edges is a crucial step because it largely affects the EM results.

Abstract
Image sharpness is a terminology used as an opposite of image blur, which limits the visibility of details. The EM is an on-orbit approach that, provided the availability of suitable edges in an image, computes a series of functions from which can be derived different sharpness metrics. Edges are as regions of the image where a sudden shift in Digital Numbers (DN) is registered. The selection of suitable edges is a crucial step because it largely affects the EM results.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
