The Old Babylonian temple loans: the archive of the temple of Uraš in Geraineh

This article presents a description of a corpus of sixty-seven tablets housed in the British Museum. These tablets record loan contracts and debt notes belonging to the archive of the temple of the god Uraš, which were excavated in the 19th century CE in Geraineh (twenty kilometers north of Babylon). Most of these documents are dated to the final years of the reign of Ammi-ditana (1683–1640 BCE), specifically his thirty-fifth and thirty-sixth regnal years.
