Abstract

Today a crucial question for the contemporary city is the meaning we give to open space, considered both in the variable of time and on the basis of uses, favoring issues of solidarity and balance between the various components of the city, thinking of public space as an absolute priority, aimed at seeking collective well-being in living environments. In this sense, redeveloping a “route” allows you to know, impact a very vast environment and insert, as when defining a route, a set of more varied components, where the landscape design of infrastructures finds importance as a driver of redevelopment of the city and the territory, integrating mobility and leisure. The text proposes an application of “infrastructure landscaping” making themes of major roads compatible with settlement reasons and with urban and landscape spatialities, which presents itself as a premise for proposal the reorganization of the Pisa coast, with three centers of Marina di Pisa, Tirrenia and Calambrone, linked by natural signs such as sea and pine forest, and a close relationship between formation of the streets and volumetric configurations. In order to give an overview of the work, the text will delve into the role of green and blue infrastructure, ramification of other open spaces, systematizing the role of ecological corridor of infrastructures, basic structure for the qualification of the spaces of the Pisan coast and the entire mobility.
