This study examines senses, feeling, and interiority in virtual reality via In Utero, using image theory (Belting, 2001) and media/metropolitan sociology (Benjamin, 1983; McLuhan, 1964). Images as tactile, living traces engage spectators, who complete their meaning through use. Dual analysis—plot dissection and cultural filtering—reveals interiority as a modern myth: a mechanical imposition of "immediate reality" masking constructed origins, evidencing breaks with historical experience.

Abstract
This study examines senses, feeling, and interiority in virtual reality via In Utero, using image theory (Belting, 2001) and media/metropolitan sociology (Benjamin, 1983; McLuhan, 1964). Images as tactile, living traces engage spectators, who complete their meaning through use. Dual analysis—plot dissection and cultural filtering—reveals interiority as a modern myth: a mechanical imposition of "immediate reality" masking constructed origins, evidencing breaks with historical experience.File allegati a questo prodotto
