Site selection for emergency housing prioritizes hydrogeological, infrastructural, and logistical conditions dictated by the post-disaster context, necessarily taking precedence over landscape integration and historical continuity with the setting. So, what tools can we deploy to bridge these two components – contingency and the quality of new dwelling? How can we foster the reconstruction of the domestic habitat and encourage emotional anchoring of their inhabitants? A possible answer begins from the inside.
