The archaeological expedition of Sapienza University of Rome at Tell es-Sultan, ancient Jericho, conducted since 1997 in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA DACH), is one of the most enduring and scientifically productive expeditions in the Southern Levant. With nearly three decades of research and 20 seasons of fieldwork, the mission has reconstructed the longue durée history of Jericho, from the Neolithic to the Iron Age, significantly contributing to the understanding of early urbanization.
