F.A.S.T. is an applied research project concerning the definition of inter modality hubs for local public transport (LPT) system and their integration with bicycle mobility in the city of Trento, Italy . In this field of study, which includes user s experience analysis on public space with particular attention to weak users and elderly people a specific reference has been examined on the basis of the LPT Transition Plan for Canton Ticino, Switzerland (2018) The novelty of this work is the application of a heuristic method, exploiting empirical strategies, experience-based samples, field inspections and observations of already-developed projects to reach effective solutions for site-specific conditions. A particular focus is given to LPT stops, which represent key-elements of the public transport system and whose design is often predefined without any specific adaptation to the urban context where they are inserted, responding solely to functional and technical criteria.

Abstract
F.A.S.T. is an applied research project concerning the definition of inter modality hubs for local public transport (LPT) system and their integration with bicycle mobility in the city of Trento, Italy . A particular focus is given to LPT stops, which represent key-elements of the public transport system and whose design is often predefined without any specific adaptation to the urban context where they are inserted, responding solely to functional and technical criteria.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
