The essay is a revised version of a paper published in 2018 and updates the important point on late antique translations in Ethiopia. A systematic list of texts translated from Greek into Gǝʿǝz is added, with reference to the "Clavis aethiopica". The overview is neither exhaustive nor the last word on the question of Greek heritage in Gǝʿǝz. It is intended to provide the current state of the art, with particular reference to the areas of canon-law and hagiography. There is no doubt that further research and the emergence of new manuscript witnesses from the still largely unexplored Ethiopian and Eritrean libraries will enrich our understanding of the presence of the Greek literary heritage in Christian Ethiopia and Eritrea.

Abstract
The essay is a revised version of a paper published in 2018 and updates the important point on late antique translations in Ethiopia. A systematic list of texts translated from Greek into Gǝʿǝz is added, with reference to the "Clavis aethiopica". The overview is neither exhaustive nor the last word on the question of Greek heritage in Gǝʿǝz. It is intended to provide the current state of the art, with particular reference to the areas of canon-law and hagiography. There is no doubt that further research and the emergence of new manuscript witnesses from the still largely unexplored Ethiopian and Eritrean libraries will enrich our understanding of the presence of the Greek literary heritage in Christian Ethiopia and Eritrea.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
