As part of a PRIN-PNRR research project regarding the most innovative co-living experiences, this essay critically analyzes the intergenerational complex ‘Le Nouveau Prieuré,’ designed by Inès Lamunière's dl-a designlab-architecture studio and inaugurated in September 2016 in the municipality of Chêne-Bougeries, on the outskirts of Geneva. It represents the latest development in a tireless and valuable social support program that the Bureau Central d'Aide Sociale, a private institution recognized as being of public utility, has been pursuing since 1867 for young people, elderly people, and families in need, through subsidiary action to that of the State. Specifically, the proposed residential model, successfully implemented here, is based on the ambitious idea of combating marginalization and social abandonment through the cohabitation of children, university students, families, dependent elderly people, and people with disabilities, in close connection with the life of the neighborhood and the city.
