The paper presents the final considerations of a series of workshops, experiments and projects on IA and Metaverse in the didactics of art history that the two authors led in the past years in their courses, in high schools, fine art academies and at the university. How are IA and Metaverse changing the teaching of art history in the classrooms? Which are the challenges, the potentiality and the limit of our current use of these powerful tools in the learning process, especially in the new relationship emerging between text and image? The answers arise from the outcomes of a workshop dedicated to training and Artificial Intelligence in Milan (2023), the use of IA in art history lessons and an ongoing project for the use of Metaverse as a tool for memorization, here reported in detail.
