This paper presents an updated and critical analysis of the transformations within the region inhabited by the Aequi following the late 4th century BC establishment of the Latin colonies of Alba Fucens and Carsioli. Firstly, it delineates a profile of the Aequian cultural sphere, with a focus on its territorial organization, settlement patterns, and a detailed examination of religious practices as evidenced by known cultic sites. Secondly, this investigation is extended through a critical re-evaluation of the extant epigraphic evidence pertaining to Alba Fucens.
