Guardare nel buio. Un'introduzione

Cities and their regions are undergoing major, often highly problematic, transformations marked by profound inequalities—socioeconomic, spatial, and inequalities of recognition—which tend to increase rather than decrease, also in relation to major global processes, such as climate change or, more recently, the pandemic. "Looking into the darkness"—immersing oneself in regions and processes to grasp those practices often overlooked and obscured by the dazzling and overwhelming light of the prevailing development model, yet which offer important alternatives for the future—thus responds to profound needs.

La città e i territori stanno subendo importanti trasformazioni, spesso molto problematiche, segnate da profonde disuguaglianze, socio-economiche, spaziali e di riconoscimento, che tendono ad aumentare piuttosto che diminuire, anche in relazione a grandi processi globali, come i cambiamenti climatici o da ultimo la pandemia. Andare a “guardare nel buio”, ovvero immergersi nei territori e nei processi per cogliere quelle pratiche spesso trascurate e oscurate dalla luce abbagliante e travolgente del modello di sviluppo prevalente ma che prospettano importanti alternative di futuro, risponde quindi ad esigenze profonde.
