Glimpses of South Asia is a journey through small windows – cinematic, historical, literary, and emotional – where fragments of stories illuminate the lives that fall outside official narratives. Instead of grand histories, it follows minor cinemas from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Himalayan borderlands, attending to the fragile gestures through which love, friendship, and belonging survive. Drawing on feminist and decolonial perspectives, the book shows how these cinemas refuse spectacle. Their images are quiet, wounded, and still luminous. They do not promise redemption, but they let us witness the fragile endurance of hope. Glimpses of South Asia is an invitation to look slowly, to dwell with the wounded and the ordinary, to recognize that a fractured image can hold a world.

Abstract
Glimpses of South Asia is an invitation to look slowly, to dwell with the wounded and the ordinary, to recognize that a fractured image can hold a world.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
