This chapter examines Marco Polo’s evolving image as a symbol of Sino-Italian relations. Adopting a Performance Studies framework, it analyzes the Chinese ballet Marco Polo (2010), where choreography fuses classical ballet and Chinese aesthetics to position Polo as both a diplomatic figure and a vehicle for (re)narrating Chinese cultural heritage.
