Abstract
The publication of the novel Andromeda: A Space-Age Tale began in 1957, and it marked a significant turning point in the field of Soviet Science Fiction. In this work, the Author describes a utopian and communist society set in a distant future. However, this ideal society, seemingly perfect in every aspect and devoid of any negative elements, implicitly reveals the intrinsic contradiction of utopian texts. The purpose of the following study is, in fact, to analyze the utopian vision depicted in the novel considering the interpretation provided by F. Jameson regarding the genres of Science Fiction and Utopia, which would represent «our constitutional inability to imagine Utopia itself».I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
