Serial Storytelling and U.S. Legal Education: The Case of Better Call Saul – This paper aims to provide an alternative appraisal of U.S. legal education by assuming a Law & Pop Culture perspective. It starts by addressing the main character of the TV Series Better Call Saul, the lawyer James McGill, in order to assess the existence of several lawyers’ prototypes, as well as multiple models in the U.S. legal education. By employing a comparative approach, both in a synchronic dimension and in a diachronic one, the article describes the development of the correspondence law school, night school and online law schools, along – and in parallel – with the “hegemonic” university law schools. Such analysis is apt to demonstrate the existing complexity in the realm of the U.S. legal education.
