Abstract

The creation and management of ontologies at a conceptual level can be assisted by using software programs in the field of knowledge-based applications, among which the most commonly used and web-available are Protégé and Ontome. The development and verification of the CPM ontology is aimed at comparing these two management systems to better understand their specific advantages and disadvantages. Consequently, three case studies were instantiated using differ- ent sets of data to test the conceptual model at various scales and elucidate the various relational aspects between parts and these parts with whole they belong to.
