This introductory article situates Bruno N. D’Andrea’s study within the enduring relevance of Augustine’s thought for both ecclesial and cultural contexts. It underscores the convergence between Augustine’s reflections on peace and the magisterial teachings of recent pontiffs, notably Pope Leo XIV. Augustine emerges not merely as a foundational figure of Western intellectual history but as a thinker deeply responsive to the social, political, and theological challenges of his time. His dynamic engagement, articulated through key concepts such as love, charity, humility, truth, and the communal journey toward God, provides a model of inquiry that transcends confessional boundaries. The work illustrates how Augustine’s insights, grounded in both vertical transcendence and horizontal solidarity, continue to inform theological discourse and contemporary ecclesial practice. In this way, the text invites readers to reconsider the dialogue between past and present through the lens of Augustinian wisdom.

Abstract
In this way, the text invites readers to reconsider the dialogue between past and present through the lens of Augustinian wisdom.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
