Mutamenti contemporanei delle Mura Aureliane. Il caso di Porta San Paolo

Porta Ostiensis is an important node of the great monumental system of the Aurelian Walls because many important architectures and urban episodes have gathered around it throughout history. With Rome elected the capital of the new Italian kingdom, there were many conflicts between these different architectural emergencies due to the pressure of building expansion. Everyone was trying to claim space and establish new enclosures, but this also meant tearing down the enclosure considered best. This study aims to reassemble this articulated series of changes undergone by the Porta Ostiensis area, spanning from the city's first regulatory plans to the mid-twentieth century.
