This talk presents the MSCA TransIslam project, which examines French translations of Ottoman religious-themed manuscripts (1730-1750), produced by dragomans and "jeunes de langue" in Istanbul under commission from the French state. It explores how these works shaped European knowledge of Islam and mediated interreligious dialogue in early modern Europe.
