A palmette lekythos from Tower 1 in the Western Defences at Butrint

The paper presents a Late Classical palmette lekythos from a 9th century BC context from the excavation of the Tower 1 in Western defences at Butrint. Although it is a residual and fragmented vase, it is an important evidence of a period, the Late Classical age, which is very poorly represented. It is furthermore a unicum among the finds from Butrint and the regional context. The contribution therefore examines this lekythos from a typological and formal point of view, but also aims to explore the importance of its discovery in Butrint.
