The tomb of Thutmosis provides us with the first complete version of the Amduat. The text, integrated by the list of deities of the antechamber, also collects, along with the cosmography of the sun’s nocturnal journey, a series of compositions of a more clearly liturgical nature, and conceived as a dialogue between the inhabitants of the Duat and the god Re. The combination of liturgy and cosmography parallels the text of the Solar Liturgy (Sonnenpriester), centred on the figure of the king. In the tomb of Thutmosis III, this liturgical component returns more decisively in the writing of the Litanies of Ra, particularly those transcribed on the shroud, in which the construction of the text, mainly in the 1st pers., allows a link to be established between the journey of the sun in the Duat and the presence of the deified ruler, a liturgical actor and at the same time the embodiment of the Re-Osiris union.
