The theatre of the Istituto per i Figli del Popolo di Naples, built in the 1930s, is a rationalist architecture designed to entertain and indoctrinate the young orphans hosted there. Now in a state of decay, it’s possible to recognise its modernity in the architectural concept and in the experimentation with materials and finishes. This study aims to hypothesise strategies of understanding and intervention for a respectful restoration capable of redefining a place of culture creation.

Abstract
The theatre of the Istituto per i Figli del Popolo di Naples, built in the 1930s, is a rationalist architecture designed to entertain and indoctrinate the young orphans hosted there. Now in a state of decay, it’s possible to recognise its modernity in the architectural concept and in the experimentation with materials and finishes. This study aims to hypothesise strategies of understanding and intervention for a respectful restoration capable of redefining a place of culture creation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
