This article discusses the celebration of rulership through the refurbishment of urban spaces and ancient monuments during the Theodosian dynasty, particularly during the joint reigns of Arcadius (395–408) and Honorius (395–423). The case of Diokaisareia in Cilicia/Isauria in Asia Minor will be examined through the lens of epigraphic evidence, which offers a direct link between civic patronage and imperial propaganda.
