In Western culture, bodies have been fundamentally conceived as means of a rational dynamic and subordinate to transcendent ends, con- forming to the Western cultural dominance and to a specific narrative of history. The aim of this text is to rethink time of sensible life in order to rethink bodies as conceptual and political battlegrounds, through which devices of domination and forms of liberation are at stake. In the first part, we analyze the question of the teleological orientation that characterizes the Western elaboration of time and history (from Aristotle to Kant, Hegel, Heidegger); in the second part, the role of bodies is thematized in relation to the time of life.

Abstract
In Western culture, bodies have been fundamentally conceived as means of a rational dynamic and subordinate to transcendent ends, con- forming to the Western cultural dominance and to a specific narrative of history. The aim of this text is to rethink time of sensible life in order to rethink bodies as conceptual and political battlegrounds, through which devices of domination and forms of liberation are at stake. In the first part, we analyze the question of the teleological orientation that characterizes the Western elaboration of time and history (from Aristotle to Kant, Hegel, Heidegger); in the second part, the role of bodies is thematized in relation to the time of life.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
