This issue of «Theoria» reopens the question of demythologization, operating on two levels. The first is a reexamination of the factors that led Bultmann to articulate his demythologizing project in close confrontation with interlocutors such as Heidegger, Jaspers or Barth. The second level involves rethinking the context in which demythologization can make sense in the present age, in which the mythical image of the world seems to be supplanted not so much by science alone, but by technique and by its reflexive hyperbolization in technology. From this twofold analysis arises the central question on which the various contributions converge: in what sense can religion today be not only the object but also the subject of demythologization?

Abstract
This issue of «Theoria» reopens the question of demythologization, operating on two levels. The first is a reexamination of the factors that led Bultmann to articulate his demythologizing project in close confrontation with interlocutors such as Heidegger, Jaspers or Barth. The second level involves rethinking the context in which demythologization can make sense in the present age, in which the mythical image of the world seems to be supplanted not so much by science alone, but by technique and by its reflexive hyperbolization in technology. From this twofold analysis arises the central question on which the various contributions converge: in what sense can religion today be not only the object but also the subject of demythologization?I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
