Dalla chiesa di S. Maria del Patrisanto alla chiesa dei Teatini. L'evoluzione storico-architettonica del complesso religioso a Piazza Armerina

This contribution deals with the church of the Theatines in Piazza Armerina, so-called since the 17th century when the Fathers acquired, in 1601, the Norman church of S. Maria del Patrisanto and related appurtenances. This study aims to highlight, through documentary and iconographic sources, its historical-architectural evolution in which not only the readjustment to the new Theatine religious identity emerges but at the same time coexists with the religious architecture of the past.
