The Portuguese language, in its Brazilian variety, acquired a central role: the linguistic statements of the Manifesto Antropófago (1928), the theorization of Mário de Andrade in his Gramatiquinha da Fala Brasileira, never finalized (ed. 1990), merge and take shape in the "rupture" language of Macunaíma (1928) and other great works. Special attention will be given to the presence of foreign languages, which corresponds to the international character of modernist thought.

Abstract
As Luciana Stegagno Picchio states (Stegagno Picchio, 1991), the Semana de Arte Moderna of 1922 was a moment of renewal that was not limited to the literary-artistic sphere, but encompassed many aspects of Brazil's cultural life. But not only the literary language was affected by the modernist renovating wave. This article will highlight some aspects of innovation in the journalistic style of Brazilian Portuguese present in the magazine "Klaxon" (1922-1923), which was the first organ of dissemination of the authors of the Week of Modern Art. Special attention will be given to the presence of foreign languages, which corresponds to the international character of modernist thought.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
