Da Lucio a Lucilio: riflessioni sull'epistolarità nelle Lettere di Seneca

In this paper I offer an insight on Seneca's declared models for his Letter, Epicurus and Cicero, with their addressees Idomeneus and Atticus. This choice shows the preminence of the exhortation to otium in the letters, and the deep value of friendship in them, since Atticus was Cicero's best friend, and Idomeneus the addresse of Epicurus' last letter.

In questo lavoro, analizzo i modelli dichiarati delle lettere a Lucilio, ossia Epicuro e Cicerone, con i destinatari Idomeneo e Attico, individuando l'esortazione all'otium come elemento in comune, e facendo luce sulla scelta del destinatario: come Epicuro dedicò a Idomeneo, amico carissimo, la sua ultima lettera prima di morire, così Seneca scrive a Lucilio le sue ultime volontà
