Preparing a special monographic issue entirely dedicated to restoration for the journal “L’ADC. L’architettura delle città” — a periodical that aims to enhance cities through architectural, historical, technological, and urban studies — provided an important opportunity to address the complexity of the discipline in its true ‘current’ relevance, as well as the contemporary tools designed for the conservation of historical heritage. This issue dedicates an entire space to understanding today’s approaches to restoration, positioned between theoretical thought and practical application. The initiative to curate a special volume on architectural restoration, originating during the Covid pandemic, was encouraged by Lucio Valerio Barbera, the journal’s scientific director, and warmly supported by one of the scientific committee members, Giovanni Carbonara, who remained attentive to the discipline’s evolution and contemporary relevance until his passing on February 1, 2023. This issue of L’ADC is dedicated to his memory.

Abstract
This issue of L’ADC is dedicated to his memory.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
