Abstract
The contribution outlines the singular geography of the Trojan myth relating to the arrival of Aeneas in Lazio as it emerged from the excavations of Sapienza in Lavinio, today’s Pratica di Mare. From the landing site, the sanctuary of Sol Indiges, located near the city’s port, to the salient topographical elements such as the coastal lagoons, the urban area and the Numicus river, up to the places of worship connected to the events of the capture of Troy such as the sanctuary of Minerva. The review concludes with the description of the Heroon of Aeneas, an exceptional monumental burial as a cenotaph of the founding hero.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
