It explores the significant influence of parental education, cultural possessions, and home educational resources on academic performance. The findings highlight that students with highly educated parents and enriched home environments perform better in mathematics and science. Additionally, the study discusses the impact of gender and migration background on academic outcomes. The results underscore the importance of addressing educational disparities through targeted policies and interventions to enhance the overall competencies of the Italian population in these critical subjects.
