The present article presents the project TEXTHA (Textile Terminology of Hittite Anatolia), funded by the European Union. It lies within the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme for Research. The project provides an accurate and updated analysis of the Hittite textile terminology. This is achieved by precisely examining the preserved epigraphic sources, most of which have been collected in general works or spread throughout scholarly journals and minor publications but have yet to be analysed in the way now being proposed. To pursue this analysis, I have created a complete corpus of the ‘Hittite textiles’ epigraphic sources, the first of its kind.
