The hagiographic theme of the Byzantine saints "in disguise" has been extensively studied since the 19th century, and in the last 60 years the approaches to it have multiplied from the kaleidoscopic and multidisciplinary perspective of social, anthropological, theological and post-structuralist theories. The cultic aspect, on the other hand, has been much less explored and deserves to be studied in depth, since most of these female saints, mostly historically invented, have been accorded a veneration that is evidenced by a commemoration in the Synaxarion of Constantinople, the liturgical book of the Greek Church, which collects, according to the order of the Byzantine liturgical calendar, the prose announcements, more or less abbreviated, that are read in the daily Divine Office. After presenting the group of female saints mentioned above, we will proceed to study their presence in the main recensions of the Constantinopolitan Synaxarion identified so far.

Abstract
After presenting the group of female saints mentioned above, we will proceed to study their presence in the main recensions of the Constantinopolitan Synaxarion identified so far.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
