This paper explores the literary value of Paek Namryong's Pŏt (Friend) as well as the literary pleasure it delivers that transcends time and space. It also sheds light on the chronotope of the text, revealing that the spatial-temporal design of early spring has a close relationship with the novel's theme of marriage and divorce. By interpreting the inner conflict of the protagonists through the author's warm gaze on humanity, Pŏt vividly depicts the texture of life in North Korea, mirrors the emotions of existence, and demonstrates the literary potential to serve as an experience of experience. Lastly, it evokes a faint sense of nostalgia for the warmth of community that our society has lost, inspiring reflection on the desolate and individualistic Korean society. In this manner, Pŏt generates North Korean's own sensibility and emotion by emanating a unique cultural language.
