The research shows a methodology used to enhance a Second World War site while telling the story behind it, all through the use of ICTs. ICT plays a crucial role in creating immersive experiences for users in the field of cul-tural heritage. Technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and 3D modeling enable the reconstruction and visualization of his-torical sites, artifacts, and artworks. Users can explore virtual reconstruc-tions, interact with virtual objects, and experience historical moments through ICT-based immersive technologies. This enhances their understand-ing of cultural heritage and provides a more interactive and engaging experi-ence. Serious Games are among the techniques of Information Communication Technologies, allowing the use of immersive experiences, where the user explores a virtual reconstruction generated on scientific assumptions and criteria. Visualization can be completely immersive, with the use of head mount viewers, or mediated through the use of portable device screens. Within this research, we defined a methodology to develop a Serious Game set in Elba Island during the Operation Brassard in 1944. Since the 2024 marks 80 years from the landing, the aim of the research is to narrate this part of history, reconstructing the progress of the landing and communicating to the present day the history of the many coastal posts and batteries, that are still present and clearly visible, enhancing these places which are not known to visitors.

Abstract
Since the 2024 marks 80 years from the landing, the aim of the research is to narrate this part of history, reconstructing the progress of the landing and communicating to the present day the history of the many coastal posts and batteries, that are still present and clearly visible, enhancing these places which are not known to visitors.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
