"Baraccati" tra le industrie: vita quotidiana e abitare operaio a Sesto San Giovanni durante il fascismo

During fascism, the topic of the houses for subaltern classes was central, especially in the industrial cities. This paper studies the “houses emergency” in a specific territory, Sesto San Giovanni, with a focus on the shacks villages. Through different sources (written and oral) the goal is the analysis, on the one hand, of the resistance and adaptance strategies by the subaltern classes and, on the other hand, of the “political solutions” made by the fascist power.
