The economic success of the Sephardic community 'in Ragusa (Dubrovnik) is not well known to European historiography. This small and hard~working group of merchants - between the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century seems less. prominent in historiography and not attracted the same level of attention as other Jew1sh commerciai communities on the Adriatic Sea and in the Balkans.
