In 2018-2020, a research carried out at the DAStU Department of Excellence (Politecnico di Milano) focused on Milan city, mainly the urban sector crossed by the new metro line M4. The chapter describes its outcomes according to the Masterplan called Green-Blue Backbone of M4. The research outcome was the highlight- ing of the public space’s capacity to trigger regeneration processes of the surrounding fabrics, stimulating the physical redevelopment of places and new ways of experiencing the neighbourhood (re-discovering places, architecture and landscapes) and, finally, encouraging the movement of people for promoting their psycho-physical well-being.
