Marmomac Meets Academies 2024 places the theme of the future of lithic design at the centre of visitors’ thoughts, focusing on the close relationship between knowledge and know-how, theory and practice, crafts-manship and the most advanced technology. The real protagonists of MMA2024 are the young creatives from schools of Architecture, Industrial Design, Fine Arts, and Engineering from various Italian and foreign universities. These young talents are not only being called to build and manage the space in collaboration with companies in the stone sector, but also invited to animate the pavilion throughout the fair’s duration. In the “workshop” of the future, visitors can attend the exhibit and participate interactively, dialoguing with the young protagonists, in the various stages of the design process: from the birth of the idea to its prototypical realisation through the various emerging technologies present in the setup (CAD modelers, 3D printers, Oculus Rift, HoloLens, etc.). Divided into functional areas, design, 3D printing, and prototypical exhibition, the “workshop” of the future will be rich in daily events and indicate a possible operational perspective towards which to lead the complex world of lithic design in the future.

Abstract
Divided into functional areas, design, 3D printing, and prototypical exhibition, the “workshop” of the future will be rich in daily events and indicate a possible operational perspective towards which to lead the complex world of lithic design in the future.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
