The paper illustrates the planning and participation initiatives which characterize the system of green areas of the Aniene river. The public planning initiatives that have been aimed over time at the protection, enhancement and regeneration of the river area are indicated, and, therefore, a conspicuous series of initiatives characterized by the activation of the participation of associations and citizens.
