The aim of the present article is to investigate the supposed allomorphy of the adjectival inflectional ending of the nominative-accusative plural masculine in Old Khotanese. Through a survey of the passages in which the relevant forms occurred, it is argued that the only regular marker is -a, as all other adduced forms require an alternative explanation. Some such forms should instead be regarded as belonging to the feminine declension, others to a different part of speech, and others yet as different case forms.

Abstract
The aim of the present article is to investigate the supposed allomorphy of the adjectival inflectional ending of the nominative-accusative plural masculine in Old Khotanese. Through a survey of the passages in which the relevant forms occurred, it is argued that the only regular marker is -a, as all other adduced forms require an alternative explanation. Some such forms should instead be regarded as belonging to the feminine declension, others to a different part of speech, and others yet as different case forms.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
