Ambiente natural e responsabilidade humana: por uma justiça ecológica e ambiental baseada no reconhecimento

In this text, we will first summarize the reflections on the environmental problem that Honneth presents in his works: in Part I, we will focus in particular, in addition to his speech at the Green Party assembly, on the volume Reification; we will examine the criticisms that various authors, particularly Jean-Philippe Deranty, have directed at the way Honneth conceives "preliminary recognition" in relation to the environment; to resolve these problems, it is to Theodor W. Adorno that we will mainly refer. In Part II, therefore, we will examine some of Adorno's important reflections on reification and the domination of nature. In Part III, we will more specifically outline the implications of Adorno's reflections for the definition of a non-anthropocentric perspective based on the recognition of human responsibility towards the natural environment, including both aspects of ecological justice and environmental justice.
