The Grotta delle Veneri continued to be occupied in the Age of Metals, as shown by the materials of the Piano Conte and Laterza facies, albeit less intensely than the previous millennia. The objects found tend to be more for daily use, with the exception of some receptacles of fine craftsmanship such as those with punctiform decoration and those of theLaterza type decorated with a sophisticated syntax. The former are also documented in Grotta dei Cervi and were widespread in the initial phase of the Copper Age in Sicily and on the eastern shore of the Adriatic. Lastly, there is the mug decorated with a band consisting of two continuous horizontal lines with a dashed line in between, which has parallels with a similar mug discovered in Tomb 3 in Laterza and attributed to the Dalmatian Cetina Culture. As for the Bronze Age, with very few exceptions the large quantity of ceramic vessels are mostly generic forms, not attributable to specific facies or periods.
