Time markers. Proposal for a conservation methodology, between matter and memory

The Exhibit Design for Cultural Heritage course face a crucial need: creating effective exhibitions within existing heritage spaces. This involves crafting a connection between individuals (visitors) and their physical surroundings, emphasizing their heritage value. This complex inheritance encompasses material and immaterial elements, representing diverse values. The first year dives into the interplay between container spaces and exhibition installations. Students explored Figini and Pollini's factory shed in Sparanise (Caserta), analyzing its scale and materiality. This ‘non-human’ space hosted an exhibition of ‘pavilion-objects’: fundamental objects marking human industrial history, transcending their reproducibility to become shared heritage.
