The article traces the arrival in Italy in 1952 of Tchelitchew and his companion Charles Henry Ford, publisher at New York from the surrealist-inspired magazine View. It highlights the role of Fabrizio Clerici, who introduces the Russian artist to Gaspero del Corso (as he had done for Berman); she underlines by elsewhere the fundamental role of Cardazzo, often partner of the L’Obelisco gallery for surrealist exhibitions. In Rome, under the influence of Quattrocento art and Renaissance treatises on perspective, Tchelitchew explores for the first time new geometric mannequins constructed from a linear weaving process. Likewise, his student Carlyle Brown, who arrived in Rome in 1948, gave a neo-metaphysical impulse with surrealist tendencies already articulated under the influence of his master, especially in his still lifes.

Abstract
Likewise, his student Carlyle Brown, who arrived in Rome in 1948, gave a neo-metaphysical impulse with surrealist tendencies already articulated under the influence of his master, especially in his still lifes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
