The volume gathers essays that several colleagues and friends wished to dedicate to Francesca Cocchini, formerly a Full Professor of History of Christianity and Churches at Sapienza University of Rome. To pay tribute to her, it was decided to focus collectively on a topic dear to her, catechesis, but approached in line with the tradition of historical-religious studies in which she was trained: the transmission of various religious traditions, different in chronology and context, to younger generations. The essays collected here, therefore, offer a diverse and complex overview of the role played by individuals, communities, and institutions in relation to a fundamental practice for the establishment and spread of a certain religious group. They also explore the self-representation that can be inferred from it, as well as the multiple factors – social, political, economic, cultural – that have influenced it and upon which it also acts. From Greece to India, from late ancient Christianity to modern Judaism, the volume thus proposes a kaleidoscope of “divine pedagogies” around the world and through history, attentive to the most current lines of research and the teachings of those who inspired it.

Abstract
From Greece to India, from late ancient Christianity to modern Judaism, the volume thus proposes a kaleidoscope of “divine pedagogies” around the world and through history, attentive to the most current lines of research and the teachings of those who inspired it.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
