Di fiorite e baracche. Lettura storica di un paesaggio agrario turisticizzato

The object of study is the particularly emblematic set of transformations that has invested a peculiar mountain landscape, the Umbrian area of Valnerina, and in particular Castelluccio di Norcia, recently hit by a violent earthquake. It is a territory crossed by increasing tourist flows since a long time. A mountain that we could define “overexposed”, in which a process of reconversion in tourist-receptive key of the housing-productive system appeared certainly already in progress, and has undergone in the post-seism an important acceleration. The impression is that a complex and stratified system such as that of the Apennines, in which safeguarding and care have been closely linked for centuries to the continuous work of maintenance and transformation of the territory, appears today uninhabitable, incapable of hosting anything other than tourism itself.
