In this paper, Camilla Miglio examines the pros and cons of the topographical turn applied to Celan's studies. Miglio tried to connect the scientific results of the topographical and geo-historical research with a geo-semiotic and poetic approach, based on the theoretical foundations of the cultural geography of Gunnar Ollsson and Adalberto Vallega, but also from the theoretical impulses from Foucault and Barthes. Celan's configuration of the East lives in the tension between Utopia and Etherotopia. The utopian side of his 'Orientalism' can be embedded in the broader context of the Jewish discourse of the XX century. His etherotopic discourse provides an interesting starting point for comparing his work on the one hand with modern and postmodern poets of the twentieth century, i.e. Zanzotto, Waterhouse, Tawada, on the other hand with an anti-classical aesthetic that was common even in early modern times in the poetics of the Middle East and was recepted in Germany.

Abstract
Zanzotto, Waterhouse, Tawada, on the other hand with an anti-classical aesthetic that was common even in early modern times in the poetics of the Middle East and was recepted in Germany.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
